Brown Sheep recycles 90% of its production waste water and also uses recyclable label stock for skeins. Waste water reuse is extremely important in Western Nebraska – Mitchell averages only 13 inches of rain and 17 inches of snow each year. (And we COMPLAIN about rain and snow in the Midwest!) You can identify the recyclable label stock on skeins by looking at the seam on the label – the recyclable stock uses sonic welding "pin pricks" where glue would be used on a paper label. Lamb’s Pride and Burly Spun use this label style.
